Opinion: Right to abortion is not a minority issue

The Brazilian Constitution, the result of an intense process of democratic construction, presupposes that public institutions and society as a whole will observe the principles of: equality; the dignity of human people and respect for privacy. Both the laws and any action practiced by public administration must be governed by these values and it is up to the Supreme Federal Court to uphold the fulfilment of these constitutional principles.
