Chamber of Deputies debates landmarks on the right to refuge in Brazil

Seminar discusses 40 years of UNHCR in Brazil and 25 years of law that helps the implementation of the Statute of Refugees

On Wednesday (13th of July), a seminar at the Chamber of Deputies debates on the 40th anniversary of UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) in Brazil and 25 years of Law 9474, which defines mechanisms for the implementation of the Refugee Statute. The event can be followed on the Chamber’s Youtube from 3:30 pm (Brasilia time).

The seminar was attended by seven guests. In addition to these milestones, experts were also expected to discuss the current situation of refugees in the country. Marina Rongo; advisor for the Strengthening Democratic Space Program, represents Conectas at the event.
