What does Conectas do?

Conectas Direitos Humanos is an international, non-profit organisation founded in September 2001 in São Paulo. Our goal is to promote the realisation of human rights and sovereign democratic state that abides by just law in Global South. Our actions have implications in three main areas – institutional violence, strengthening of democratic state, and violations of human and environmental rights perpetrated by businesses – that interact with each other and cover national and international domains. The projects in each of these programmes promote strengthening of activists and academics in countries of the Southern Hemisphere and foster their interaction through collaborative networks. They also reinforce the protection of human rights by monitoring the foreign policy of the countries of the Global South. In Brazil, Conectas promotes strategic advocacy and public interest activities.
