Read the annual activity report of Conectas for 2016 and find out what the organization has been doing to prevent setbacks and promote human rights

In Brazil, the political crisis, the approval of an anti-terrorism law and the agenda to dismantle the social commitment established in the Constitution of 1988. Elsewhere around the world, the election victory of Donald Trump, the persecution of rights defenders and the rise of nationalist discourse. These are some examples of the extremely challenging context that a human rights organization like Conectas faced in 2016 – the year we commemorated our 15th anniversary.

Despite swimming against the tide, Conectas was not discouraged. The organization firmly pursued its mission to denounce violations and setbacks, to join forces with civil society movements to block threats, and to seize every opportunity to make progress on issues that are important for human rights.

The 2016 Annual Report of Conectas summarizes the struggles and victories of our team, but it also represents a commitment to transparency and to results. Read the report and learn more about our work:
