Organizations cried out for justice for the killing of a black activist in Porto Alegre

In a press released, hundreds of Organizations sympathized with the deceased family and condemned the Polyfica`s action



More than 300 Civil Society Organization issued a press release on Thursday 10th demanding for a thorough investigation into the death of Jane Beatriz da Silva Nunes aged 60, a renowned legal luminary and human right activist by some competent authorities.

Jane, lived in Grande Cruziero, in Porto Alegre before her untimely death. Her house was raided by Police officers without court warrant. The Activist tried to stop the illegal operation of the security forces but all her effort proved abortive. According to the Forensic scan report the community leader suffered a brain Aneurysm.

According to the people that reside in the community, they said, the 1st Battalion of Military Brigade has been carrying out this ugly act of intimidation and invasion of people`s house for some time now.

In a statement, the organizations say that the death of the Activist is not an Isolated case, but, a typical example of systematic extermination of black people and those , who defend human right .
