Ten examples of why we have to be alert and active with regards to the government

When Jair Bolsonaro was sworn in on 1 January, Conectas outlined their concerns regarding the possible threats that the new government posed to human rights based on the president’s comments, during the election campaign and on statements made by the ministers who form the government.

On 10 April the government completes its first one hundred days in power. During this period, previously expressed concerns have been confirmed. In just over three months the administration has attacked democratic institutions in a number of different ways and has repeatedly demonstrated its disregard for the diversity of voices.
