International seminar on combatting torture on wednesday 14 august in Brasilia

The event is free and open to the public and will be held at the Legislative Chamber in the Federal District



What is the current situation regarding torture in Brazil? How can this practice be suppressed through dialogue between public authorities, civil society and international organisations?

These and other fundamentally important issues on the theme will be discussed at The International Seminar on Preventing and Confronting Torture in Brazil.

The event will take place in the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District next Wednesday (14), starting at 2pm. It will have the support of the Human Rights Commission of the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District, the cabinet of the district congressman Fábio Felix (PSOL-DF), Conectas Human Rights and the Frente Distrital Pelo Desencarceramento.
