Final episode of Cara Pessoa addresses migration as a means of survival

On immigrants' Day, a podcast produced by Conectas in partnership with Folha shows the situation of migrants and refugees in Brazil



Migration as a means of survival is the theme of the tenth and final episode of Cara Pessoa, a podcast produced by Conectas in partnership with Folha de S.Paulo; (a journal) published on Friday (18th); immigrants´ day.

The program director in Conectas; Camila Asano, was interviewed on Brazilian´s norms with welcoming, accepting and absolving migrants and asylum seekers.  Merlina Saudade Ferreira; a psychologist by profession testified as a partaker and first hand witness.

The episode also addresses Brazilian migration policy during pandemic, such as the closing of borders to migrants in vulnerable situations and those in search of acceptance, contrary to legislation; international treaties and the presidential speech at UN conference.

Cara Pessoa is anchored by reporter Fernanda Mensa and aired between October and December, with episodes available every Friday at 9 am on all main audio streaming platforms.

The program’s narrative adopts a format of reading letters that are intended for listeners´ analysis and dissection by telling several stories of human rights thinkers in a light, creative and thought provoking way.
