On Tuesday (28th of September), various experts in human rights and migration participate in the webinar “#StandFor6Million: regional event for Venezuelan migrants and refugees”, which focuses on the mass displacement of Venezuelans. Camila Asano, program director at Conectas, and representatives of the organizations WOLA, CELS, as well as Dejusticia (an action-research center for legal and social studies) are participating. The event will have simultaneous translation in Spanish and English.

According to WOLA, as the humanitarian and economic crisis in Venezuela has deepened in recent years, nearly six million people have migrated to neighboring countries, making it the largest mass displacement in the hemisphere’s recent history. In the face of these challenges, civil society and human rights organizations across the region has been working tirelessly to defend Venezuela’s migrants and refugees and urge respective governments to adopt humanitarian migration policies.
