Cine Direitos Humanos to show documentary about indigenous people, the Kadiwéu at Sesc 24 de Maio

The project shows films and afterwards there is a discussion session on topics and agendas relevant to human rights

On 24 April, at Sesc 24 de Maio, the project Cine Direitos Humanos is showing the documentary A nação que não esperou por Deus, about the indigenous people, the Kadiwéu who live in Mato Grosso do Sul. The film will be followed by a discussion session on the issues raised in the documentary and the subject of human rights. The Director, Lucia Murat first visited the community in 1999 to shoot a different film, Brava gente Brasileira, which motivated her to make this one, released in 2015. In almost 15 years between the two films, electric lighting, television and evangelical churches, as well as a struggle with cattle breeders for the Kadiwéu land have reached this location. The documentary was made with the intention of analysing the different paths taken by this people in the face of these occurrences.
